At the
county level, mark May 17-18 on your calendar. The Orange County Art & Jazz
Festival returns to Cal State Fullerton Arboretum. Larry Anders is the festival
director and he has adopted the festival as his labor of love (his real job is
running Anders Catering). For two days, the Arboretum vibrates to a mixture of
bebop, swing, Latin, traditional and progressive jazz, mixed with displays of
the finest the local arts community can offer. It’s the kind of event that
mark’s a community’s expansion beyond and between small enclaves. In many ways,
such festivals represent the county’s emergence as a distinct cultural
community. It deserves your support.

Bowers Museum of Cultural Art,
Santa Ana Zoo, Santora Building of The Arts,
Anaheim Pearson Park Amphitheater, Block at
